Stacy and Froskees team up to remix Main Attractionz’ “Perfect Skies”, originally produced by the FRIENDZONE duo. Stacy and Froskees are able to bring the tone of the original beat up without changing much. Where ‘ZONE relied heavily on a piano and rapid cymbals, the remix uses light interjections by a synth keyboard and a hollow atmosphere. Both versions are effective, in my mind, at laying the proper beat for MAz to relax over.
Processes like this show how rap can change culturally: usually a self-reliant art form, the process from beat, to rhymes, to remix were all done collaboratively here. Every step of the way was done by a duo of some sort; the sound is affected by every “voice” that had a part in this creative process. This remix is almost “bigger” than the remix, so I included the original track, as well as the original instrumental below.
